Dear South Coast Group Member of the Service Council,
1. Please note the May Delegates Meeting will discuss changes to Our SCAASC Constitution to become an Incorporated Association.
If your group has been on our Meeting List for the last three months, your group is registered with the South Coast Alcoholic Anonymous Service Council (SCAASC).
See SCAASC Constitution Item 4 below.
2. As this would be an important change if adopted, the SCAASC asks that your group re-nominate or nominate (if your groups has not done so) your SCAASC Two Delegates and One Alternate Delegate (if your group wishes) to be able to speak and vote on your group’s behalf at the February and later Delegates meetings including the AGM and any Special General Meetings.
We ask that you do this asap, but your Notice of Delegates need to be received at least 7 days prior to the 19th May 2025 SCAASC General Meeting i.e. by 6pm on Monday 12th May 2025 to aawollongong@bigpond.com..

Please Note : the Qualifications for Delegates:
a) Bona Fide membership of the appointing Group or a Group within the appointing Intergroup for at leat one (1) month.
b) Bona Fide membership of a participating Group for at least six (6) months; and
c) Physical abstinence from alcohol and physical abstinence from narcotics otherwise than in the course of medical treatment for six (6) months prior to appointment.

3. It is although not specified in our Constitution, the Delegates meetings will assume Group equality by each Group has One Vote. Any Alternate views please let the Executive know at aawollongong@bigpond.com
4. This means that for the next two years, unless the Group determines to change its Delegates and unless there is a Constitution change otherwise, the nominated Delegates will be the bone fide Group’s Delegates.
